At SEAFN, we are dedicated to building a movement that uplifts and empowers Southeast Asian communities. Our programs focus on grassroots leadership, fighting deportation, and addressing systemic inequalities. Together, we strive for a future where all individuals can thrive without fear. The Southeast Asian Freedom Network (SEAFN), founded in 2001, unites Southeast Asian (SEA) communities—Khmer, Lao, Montagnard, Hmong, Viet, Khmu, Iu Mien—to end deportation, build social, political, and economic power. As we mark 50 years since the end of the American War in Southeast Asia and the resettlement of refugees in the U.S., SEAFN continues to fight for a future where families stay together and thrive, despite being resettled in disinvested communities. We are rooted in resilience, love, and ancestral care, and we work toward economic, immigration, and gender justice.
SEAFN exists to build Southeast Asian power by organizing a national network of leaders, communities, and organizations committed to economic, immigration, and gender justice. We amplify the political, social, and cultural stories of our people, build transformative movement infrastructure, and cultivate leadership grounded in healing, change, and accountability. Through advocacy, storytelling, and community defense, we are creating an ecosystem where Southeast Asian communities not only survive systems of violence—but transform them.
