Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago builds power through collective advocacy and organizing to achieve racial equity.

Community Organizing and Leadership Development: We build bases of grassroots volunteer leaders who are impacted by the issues we work on and share our vision of racial equity. We invest in leadership development by providing political education, community organizing trainings, one-on-one mentorship, and individual propositions to take on roles in issue-based campaigns.

Issue-Based Campaigns/Policy Advocacy: We work to pass laws and policies that promote racial equity and improve outcomes for the Asian American and immigrant communities, including initiatives in areas such as voting rights and democracy, language access, immigrant rights, education equity, and criminal justice reform.

Civic Engagement: We lead programs and initiatives that provide community members and partner organizations with the knowledge and resources to advocate for themselves and their communities, especially through nonpartisan engagement with elections and legislative advocacy. Programs include voter protection/poll watching, our quad-annual nonpartisan Chicago mayoral forum, our annual Asian American Action Day in Springfield, and census planning and outreach.
