AQUA is a volunteer organization that aspires to build community for ace-, bi-, homo-, pan- romantic/sexual and other expansive orientations and the gender non-conforming, non-binary, trans, and other gender expansive identities, the former of which shall henceforth be referred to as “queer or trans” Asian and Pacific Islander, which henceforth be referred to as “API”, residents in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. AQUA utilizes its location in the nation’s capital to help uplift voices and advocate for social justice issues through a queer or trans and API lens. AQUA strives in its mission to intentionally incorporate the following values through our collective actions as an organization to center: Education, Equity & Inclusivity, Visibility, and Well-being. We aim to support our mission by providing opportunities for political advocacy, coalition building, cultural exploration, and personal development
