(1) to bring about the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding of economics, matters of public concern, finance, education and training, housing, human relations, issues of native hawaiians, science and technology, economic and development, government relations and other subjects related to improved efficiency, development and acceleration of both the quality and quantity of economic growth and employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the county of maui. (2) to operate exclusively for charitable, scientifc, literary, religious, or educational purposes, within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986.
