From art-house classics to documentary films, from innovative and experimental visions to next-level Bollywood: 3rd i Films is committed to promoting diverse images of South Asians through independent film. We showcase films from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Afghanistan and the global South Asian Diaspora.3rd i’s programs reflect the lives and experiences of the many ethnic, religious and national identities that comprise the South Asian identity, and promotes interaction and dialogue both within the South Asian community and with other local and global communities.In addition to the annual film festival, 3rd i Films conducts year-round programs. These include:• On-going screenings, performances, and mini-festivals (3rd i’s Green Eye and 3rd i’s Queer Eye),• Co-presentations with other Bay Area cultural organizations and film festivals, and• Educational programs (3rd i’s Speaker Series) on various issues related to South Asian cinema.
