New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) was established in 1971 as a 501c3 service organization with the mission to empower artists in all disciplines, as well as cultural workers, to achieve success on their own terms by providing critical support, resources, and opportunities. With a diverse staff of 27, and a dedicated board of 21, NYFA’s present day impact is far-reaching with in-person programs and services, a world-wide online presence, an ever-growing base in NY, and significant partnerships with other arts & cultural organizations, city & state government agencies, and academic institutions. Programs are tailored to the needs of our constituents, with a particular focus on serving under-represented/under-resourced communities. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) are integral to our mission which we serve through our four flagship initiatives: Awards & Grants, Learning, Fiscal Sponsorship, and Online Resources.
