Founded in 1962, the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles (KAFLA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to representing and empowering the Korean American community of Los Angeles County. Recognized as a 2024 Top 100 California Nonprofit and a 2022 California Nonprofit of the Year, KAFLA has long served as a trusted community anchor, advancing equity, access, and representation for over six decades.

Our mission is to represent and empower the Korean American community of Los Angeles County. We aim to protect the rights and promote the well-being of Korean Americans through advocacy, culturally responsive services, and civic engagement. We also foster cross-cultural understanding and solidarity among the diverse communities of Koreatown and Greater Los Angeles and strengthen ties between Korea and the United States. At the heart of our work is a vision to bridge generations and cultivate the next generation of Korean American leaders.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that equitable access to healthcare, social services, and civic participation is fundamental to community empowerment. Through culturally and linguistically responsive programming, we reach more than 40,000 people annually.
