Founded in 1960, the Korean American Association of Greater New York (KAAGNY) has long advocated for the welfare and protection of the rights and interests of over half a million diasporic Koreans living in the Greater New York area. A non-profit organization, KAAGNY has served to connect Korean Americans to one another as well as to the American mainstream. It also acts as an umbrella organization to 500 other Korean American organizations which provide Korean Americans of all ages and economic backgrounds with assistance and services in numerous areas, including education, culture, vocational help, and community outreach.
