CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities
- HQ
New York, NY
- Founded
1986
CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities organizes and develops the leadership of working class Asian immigrants and youth in key neighborhoods on the frontlines of gentrification. We have won some of the largest concessions from real estate developers in NYC history, setting the ceiling for what is winnable elsewhere. Through intergenerational, multiethnic organizing, CAAAV develops Asian immigrants as leaders of the cross-racial housing movement. Our goal is to weaken real estate and shift the long-term political landscape of the city and state, so that working class people make decisions over their own homes and neighborhoods.
