CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities
- HQ
New York City, NY
- Founded
1986
Founded in 1986, CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities builds working class Asian tenant power in Chinatown and Queens in order to intervene in the gentrification of New York City. Chinatown and Queens are places where Asian immigrants are one of the fastest growing driving forces of the working class, and could potentially shift the long-term political landscape of the city. Through intergenerational, multilingual organizing, we defend our neighborhoods from luxury development, fight for more housing for the working class, and build enough power to constrict our opposition, the real estate industry.
